What is Academic Writing?
The term academic writing can be defined as the writing done by scholars and/or students for scholars, students and/or general public to help them understand any particular subject inside-out. Academic writing presents an argument - a point of view on anything backed up by concrete proofs.

While writing an academic paper, it is compulsory that you provide your argument with reliable, solid and supportive evidence otherwise your academic paper will not be taken as academic writing in the academic circle.

Academic writing differs in authenticity also. For example, an academic paper written by a scholar is usually taken more academically-accurate than that of an academic paper written by a student. This does not mean that academic writing done by a student is of any less important in the academic circle. Many times, an academic paper written by a student has give new viewpoint to an already established information.

Before writing a paper, the writer must decide on a topic. The topic must not be anything that the masses already know a great deal of information about.
