Corrèze (Occitan: Corresa) is a department in south central France , named after the Corrèze River. Corrèze is one of the unusual 83 departments formed during the Revolution of France on March 4, 1790. Corrèze consists of part of the previous province of Limousin. The department is part of the existing region of Limousin. It is bounded by the subdivision of Haute-Vienne, Cantal, Creuse, Lot, Puy-de-Dôme, and Dordogne. Tulle is the prefecture of Corrèze and Brive-la-Gaillarde the largest city. " />
