American Political Science Association (APSA) writing style
The American Political Science Association or APSA Style follows the same guidelines as Chicago style manual or CMS. What makes APSA different is the special emphasis on hyphenation and syntax driven from Chicago style manual.
In APSA 2.54cm margins are left at all sides of the paper. All the text lines are double spaces instead of the usual 1 space that is common practice.
Another textual aspect that makes APSA different is the varied usage of italics while writing. All subheadings, apparatus or material, procedures and names of books and journals are written in italics. Though it uses the times new roman font as standard all the pages even the title page is numbered.
Another thing that makes APSA different from other writing styles is the constant use of third-person tone. Almost all papers written in APSA use a third person speech style.
