Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) style
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) style is most used and globally accepted format for writing technical papers, particularly in engineering and computer science fields. The format of citations in IEEE differs from other writing styles as it uses numbered citations enclosed in square brackets rather than the usual superscripts. All bibliographical information in IEEE is entirely integrated in the list of references at the end of the document, next to the relevant citation number.
References In The Text
References should be numbered in the order in which the are placed in the text.
Once the source has been labeled, the same number in all subsequent references.
Each reference number must be enclosed by square brackets on the text line, with one space before the bracket, and before the punctuation: ". . . end of the line for my research [12]."
It is not necessarily required to mention the author(s) of the reference except it is relevant to your text. Do not mention the date of the reference in the text.
It is not necessary to say "in reference [27]. . . ." "In [27] . . ." is sufficient.
